About Janus86

Janus86 was developed as a university project in the year 2005. The project aims to develop a new genre of kernel that provides the functionalities of a kernel under the protected/real modes of operation and can be deployed to boot a bigger kernel. This is the process of a bigger kernel being loaded by a smaller, tiny kernel.

janus86 structure

The heart of the janus86 kernel consists of memory , process, file system and device driver subsystems . The user interface layer makes use of the routines provided by each of these sections.
